This is a page dedicated to my son, Avery Jace Kimbrell who was stillborn September 5, 2006 at 34 weeks 2 days and to all his angel friends who were taken from this world far too early. I hope that the information here will help others going through a loss as well as help those who know someone who has experienced a loss. Please look at the Blog Archive for the posted poems. Check back as I continue to add more info and make this blog better. Feedback is always welcome.
Wishing You Near by Nick Alcantara
I have come
To realize
That time is so dear
When you are no
Longer here
I cling to memories,
Sweet bitter memories
That brings you near
If only
I can touch you again
Without bringing back the pain
Feeling your presence
That you are not really
Very far away
That would bring back
The joy and magic
Of being again
Together
I know you are
Just a whisper away.

Thanks for posting my poem in your blog..really appreciate it. I lost my wife of 18 years to the big "C" in 2001. I never wrote serious poetry before my wife passed away, but then I started writing after she died and words just appeared of nowhere and I can't stop. writing has helped me cope with my grief immensely.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the loss of your wife. I can't imagine. This poem is beautiful. Finding poems like yours have helped me and others with our losses - you have touched so many! Thank you for sharing your beautiful words.
